After the Chengdu (China) meeting (September 4th, 1990), the Politburo of the Central Party of Viet Nam decided to send Foreign Minister Nguyen Co Thach to head the delegation to the UN General Assembly at the United Nations, as no one could do better the following task: terminating the embargo against Viet Nam, normalizing relations with the United States and on the way back, improving the relations with Japan and Thailand. I prepared the contents at the UN General Assembly and also accompanied the Minister on the way home. This writing narrated his last diplomatic mission.
