Marxism and Leninism have asserted that economic, political, defense, security and foreign relations are interwoven, in which economic relations prevail. Defense and security build-up need to stem from economic strength. In its turn, defense and security consolidation will promote economic growth, creating an enabling environment for economic growth and foreign relations. Foreign relations need to serve economic growth and augment security and defense. Economic, defense and security activities adhere to their respective mechanisms but overall, they are harmoniously interwoven.
