Power in International Relations Revisited.

The author of this paper argued that for a long time theories of international relations and  power have been seen alike, given the fact that almost all components of IR theories can be found in Weber’s perception of power. He also pointed out that there has been a trend, since the Cold War ended, among the academic circle to focus on such concepts as “superpower” or “unilateralism” in relation to IR theories. In stead of engaging in this debate, the author focus on what he called an “ideological crisis” of Hobbes and his followers in which power might be attacked by itself. In other words, the superpower may prove to be impotent in the post-Cold War game.
