Elements and levels in the analysis of foreign policy
Currently there exists no perfect “theory” on foreign policy. Researchers have just accepted the notion of analyzing foreign policy. In order to formulate a correct foreign policy, science needs to consider various elements. They are national geo-politics, strength, synergy, internal politics, social reaction, cultural and historic elements, regional and international settings, theories on international and foreign relations. Furthermore, what needs to be considered also includes national interests, a synthesized element and a cornerstone in the making of foreign policy (although the analysis of national interests is not the purpose of this article). Coupled with the analysis of elements, attention should be paid to three levels in the analysis of foreign policy, namely system of international, national and individual relations.
